Journal Entries

This article walks you through how to create Journal Entries in Juno.

Where to Access Journal Entries

The Journal Entries functionality is designed to be accessible throughout the Business Return Preparation process in Juno. You can access the Journal Entries fly out in the following locations:

You can create Journal Entries by clicking on the Journal Entries button at any point listed above.

Important Note: Journal Entries are currently not exported into your tax software.

When creating a journal entry in Juno you’ll need to add/select the following details:

  • Add a title

     

  • Select the date

     

  • Select the Journal Entry type

     

  • Add Memo

    After completing the above click “Add Entry” to create a journal entry.

Select the accounts you wish to debit and credit via the dropdown.

The dropdown now shows your firm's own chart of accounts at the top — pulled from your uploaded P&L/balance sheet, or synced from QBO/Xero. Juno's default account categories are still available further down the list. Any AI-suggested journal entries will reference your real account names instead of generic placeholders like "Auto and Truck."

For Book adjustments you can create custom accounts by scrolling to the bottom of the dropdown list and entering the title

Juno will let you save the Journal Entry once debits = credits.

After successfully creating your journal entry you’ll see it display on the Journal Entry summary page. From this page you can add new entries or modify existing ones.
