Exporting Business Return Data from Juno to UltraTax

This article walks you through how to download your Business Return data from Juno and import it into UltraTax. For questions, please contact us at support@juno.tax.

Step 1: Download the Export File from Juno

In the Juno web app, once all documents are validated you can download the preparation file that will be uploaded into Ultratax

 
Step 2: Open the Client in UltraTax

Open UltraTax and navigate to the client you want to import data into. This can be a new or existing client. If using a new client, the balance sheet and all schedules should be empty before proceeding.

Step 3: Run the Trial Balance Excel Import

  1. At the top of the screen, click Utilities.

  2. Select Trial Balance Excel Import.

  3. Click Browse and navigate to the export file you downloaded from Juno in Step 1. Select the file.


Step 4: Configure the Column Mapping

You only need to assign the column mapping once. On subsequent imports you can select “previously defined mapping”, but you will still need to confirm the Omit First Row setting each time.

  1. Click Next to proceed to the column mapping screen.

  2. Map the columns as follows:

    1. Column A → Account Number

    2. Column B → Account Description

    3. Column C → Unit (used for multi-schedule returns; assign as needed)

    4. Column D → Tax Code

    5. Column E → Amount

  3. Check the box to Omit the First Row (row 1 is the header row and should not be imported as data).

  4. Ensure your mapping configuration looks like the below and then click Import.

The import runs quickly. Once complete, UltraTax will confirm the import is finished.
